From Grokdoc
We have had to institute a new policy, whereby you must register to input materials, in a desire to keep Grokdoc cleaner from spam. I regret the need for the change, but there you are. Real life.
To those who have been using Grokdoc secretly for their own purposes, I would appreciate it very much if you would stop. It's very distressing to me. The Internet is a very big place, and Grokdoc is a tiny little corner. You don't need it, but we do. We're trying to do something that will benefit people who wish to learn how to switch to GNU/Linux. Is there any reason you need this particular site? I can't see why. Could you please go to some other neck of the woods?
You see, when you leave your business links, I have to spend hours and hours removing it. Time is my least abundant asset, and it's stupid work. Stupid but absolutely necessary. If you continue, I'll have to take Grokdoc down again, permanently, because I can't have the site linking to such things, even under the radar so to speak, so one way or another, it's time for you to make other arrangements. Thank you.
To regular users, what they are doing is inserting lots of blank lines, or in one case a graphic, and then posting long lists of hidden urls below the normal viewing window. So when you go to edit a page, please scroll down and see if you see anything like that, and if you do, please help me to keep Groklaw clean by removing it. I noticed some of you have already been doing so, and I wish to say thank you. You can't see a thing when viewing a page normally, by the way, only when you scroll down when editing. What benefit that is to anyone puzzles me, but that is what I discovered yesterday when I saw it over and over on pages I spent all night removing. So, if we all keep an eye out, and with a little human cooperation, hopefully we can resolve the issue.
PJ
